Damn, now I might have to go out and buy an Xbone, no beta for X360.

From what I've seen of several people streaming the live beta, it looks like a mix between the gun-play of CoD, the scoring system of the unnamed FPS, and the futuristic style of Halo, and adding titans makes it even better. I'm personally stoked.

I registered. They let you know on 2-17.
If I get it, I'll record and post some gameplay of me sucking ass.

Just got my code. Will be trying it out very soon. I will update you with my thoughts. Looks to be more of a fun game than serious tactical cod. But we will see.

Beta is now open for everyone on XBox One. No beta code is needed, just go to game demos and download it.

I couldn't turn the bloody thing off. I tried to play it for a quick hour or so and 8 hours later I finally managed to go to bed. It was very addictive. Many different games in one. I didn't think I would like it but I really do and I don't know why. The biggest downside is the lack of players and the AI. The best round I had was 14-0 an I felt like I killed loads of people. All I was doing was killing the grunts. Most people are going 4-6 or similar. The maps are great. I really like the look and feel to how they play. So many routes are available due to your abilities to walk run and double jump. I had a blast. Can't wait to play tonight with my friends. The cards are a very interesting addition. You pick 3 cards which are similar to perks and you use them when you spawn but they only last one life, so you pick when you use them. The choices become very tactical. The actual titans took a little time to understand how to defend and attack against other titans, but you get the hang of it. I also had the chance to try the stryder Titan and it was much faster and kept it for almost the whole match. Great fun. What does everyone else think to it.

I have played 2 hours so far and really enjoyed it. Still trying to get a hang on 1) how to move more effectively (double jump is easy, but combining wall run with jumps to form nice move combos is significantly harder to master), and 2) play Titans more effectively.
One piece of good news (IMHO) is that I don't think this is a CoD killer, as I don't think CoD fans are likely to completely shift their interest to this one. For one thing: CoD's much higher human encounter rate offers a lot more satisfaction. For another as swain mentioned above: a significant portion of CoD fans just want "military" shooter, and they will feel that Titanfall is too gimmicky.
What we do have here is a legit alternative to CoD. This is great because it's harder and harder for CoD games to have lasting appeal as long as one full year. As FPS fans, we now have the option to switch back and forth between the two games.
The competition Titanfall offers will also compel CoD franchise to make braver and faster innovation moves. In addition, with Sledgehammer joining Infinity Ward and Trearch as CoD developing studio and increase the development cycle to 3 years will definitely help in that regard.

I did not play it, as I am only an X360 type of guy. But the feedback that I am hearing is much the same as Cillz. People were not expecting much and then found it to be pleasantly appealing.
Good to hear.

After playing another session last night, the lack of real human players is very evident. With only 6 players per team, the ability to go invisible and some players in titans, there really isn't much shooting going on. I still really enjoy it but it really needs at least 8 human players per team. We will see.

Funny, I looked this up and was only stated in one article I read, but it seems the 360 version is 720p... if that's right, iono if this will be the system seller MS had hoped for.

Is the 360 capable of anything higher? In the end I really don't think this game is going to be very good on the 360, but that is just a suspicion, nothing to back that up. IMO this game is meant for the Xbone and I would think M$ is hoping that it will help spark a new sales run on those consoles. I will admit, I am seriously considering getting an Xbone a little earlier then I planned to play this game, still trying to figure out the headset thing though.

I don't know if anyone has seen or played it before, but Titanfall has an Unreal Tournament feel to it.

Wow, this is a halfway decent offer. But what does it mean for the game? I never get a warm and fuzzy when games are given out for free or if they are drastically reduced a few days post release.

As I said: this is more about push XBox One sales than pushing Titanfall sales. Since Titanfall is XBox exclusive on console, and its beta has gotten great receptions from players and reviewers (hailed as the first killer app on XBox One), MSFT is trying to ride the wave to get more people moving from XBox 360 to XBox One.
Also, note that a digital copy is different from a disc in one significant way: you can't trade it in at GameStop.

The deal is even sweeter in UK, with an additional 30 pounds off.

I missed the beta. If I buy this for xbox one am I going to be alone? My question really is anyone here going to buy this game for sure on xbox one? I don't want to buy it if I'm the only one
