E3 is going on. New reveals, new stuff, all that. A video was released with some campaign gameplay. Which note, is NOT multiplayer gameplay. I think one of the comments in the video below summed it up best
"COD stays the same → people are bitching COD changes → people are bitching game isn't even out yet → people are bitching conclusion: everyone bitching about this game is < < 8y/o"

It's going to be different, that's for sure.

It's going to be different, that's for sure. I can sit and face the back of the toilet with my head on the tank while I take a shit and that would be different but it would still feel wrong.

Here is what I think, as an optimist:
1) The futuristic fancy stuff are mainly for Single Player;
2) Hopefully with the cool gadgets and more investments into the story, the campaign can be decent and better than previous installments;
3) For MP, it would be nuts if they are making drastic changes. I believe that they are going to stick to the classic CoD formula;
4) (Pure speculation) I predict that one significant change to MP sandbox is movement.
In a shooting encounter, there are two main skill categories, the gun play (aim, recoil management, in/out ADS, etc with the main goal as staying on the target and deal out DPS as fast as possible) and the evasive maneuvers (strafe, jump, drop, slide, hover, etc, with the main goal as throw the opponent off his aim). Traditionally, CoD is mainly about the gun play with every little evasive maneuvers (drop shots and sliding do exist but they are not really skill based). I believe that CoD AW is going to buff up the second category so both skill sets are important in the gun fight. The gun play side will remain the primary aspect, but the evasive maneuver is going to play a significant role.
Just my guess based on what have been revealed so far.

This is off topic, but I think that it is still sort of relevant and worth discussing in this thread. Check out this footage of Destiny's MP game play: (for those who don't know what Destiny is, the new baby of ActiVision, check out this thread: hsv1.boards.net/thread/204/halo-borderlands-baby-cod-godfather ) You will be amazed by how similar this is to a CoD's Domination game! CoD fans usually don't like Halo because 1) the maps look dull, 2) lack of weapon variety (no effective automatic weapons). Destiny is going to be very different. Yes, the gun play will be more like Halo than CoD, in terms of a) longer TTK, b) headshot ability is important. However, looks like it will be much more accessible to CoD fans than Halo.

Battlefield hardline game play looks pretty intriguing too: I have never played a Battlefield game, but this police vs. bad guys twist looks interesting and makes a believable 16 vs. 16 big battle. Also, no scifi/futuristic stuff in this one

Bullet Brass Exo & EM1 Quantum Weapon Pre-Order Bonus will feature in Co-op & Multiplayer; possible Multiplayer map shown By Peter on June 10, 2014@thatpetey
aw-em1-header Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you should have heard about the Advanced Warfare Pre-order Bonus which consists of a Bullet Brass Exoskeleton & EM1 Quantum Weapon.
SHGames/Activision followed the announcement by releasing a trailer detailing the Pre-order bonus and it’s contents. Although many people caught on to the words of Michael Condrey within the trailer, some were left questioning whether the pre-order bonus would appear in anything other than Single Player.
To clarify, the Advanced Arsenal Pre-order bonus will work within Single Player, Co-op and Multiplayer.
The EM1 Quantum is a direct energy weapon driven by battery power, essentially giving you unlimited ammo assuming you don’t overheat the weapon or deplete your battery.
Additionally, if you were watching the trailer close enough, we may have seen our first potential sighting of a multiplayer map within Advanced Warfare. It’s nothing drastic, and it might have nothing to do with the final game.
In the images below, you can see the EM1 Quantum being used to destroy a sentry gun and a drone of some description.

So driftor is saying MP might have the following movement:
1) Slide, similar to Ghosts; 2) Boost Jump, jump a little higher than normal; 3) Dash side ways and backwards;
Sounds good to me because I am a fan of having movement as part of the gun fight.

Agree. But if the core meta game stays the same for the umpteenth game in a row, a game consisting of fags playing "PLAY THE KD"....will it really matter?

www.charlieintel.com/2014/06/15/exo-suits-will-be-featured-in-advanced-warfares-mp-shgames-says-gadgets-will-not-be-op/YouTube personality Drift0r posted a new video today with a few new details about Advanced Warfare’s MP. Drift0r had a phone call with Michael Condrey, Sledgehammer Games’s Studio Head about some of the new features in MP. First and foremost, the gadgets and technology will be “balanced” according to Condrey. Condrey wanted to ““make it clear that they won’t be OP.” The Exo Suits will be featured in multiplayer, and the team at SHGames has been working on implementing the suit into MP since the start of development. “ We spent a ton of time designing them and building our game around them,” said Condrey. “Not yet ready to say exactly how they will be in multiplayer though but we didn’t spend all that design time just for the campaign.”
“ We wanted to make [movement] feel familiar to other CoD games but also added a few changes. We wanted to make a really fast paced CoD game.”“Multiplayer is a core part of our game. It is getting a lot of attention and development time,” Condrey told Drift0r. “We are not ready to reveal what gadgets will be in multiplayer.”Condrey also informed Drift0r that both former and current CoD players, including pro players are working with the team at SHGames on the MP of Advanced Warfare. Condrey says that the team values feedback immensely and listening to both the regular community and eSports is key to them. Condrey made it clear that he understands the differentiation between the communities and types of players out there. “Most of the dev team are former or current CoD players, some eSports guys. They played through the last few cycles. That’s why we are working hard right now to make sure everything is balanced before launch. [We] take community and eSports feedback very seriously. The game is made for you to enjoy.”

Interesting news here
- For the first time since CoD2, we will have a new engine running CoD, built from scratch (sort of, I know people debate this) - Sledgehammer has benefited from a 3 year window with their work. Have had plenty of time to work on the new engine. - Game engine is optimized FIRST for the XB1/PS4 new consoles. HighMoon studios will do the port to the 360/PS3 - XboxOne is again going to be the lead console, in regards to timed releases and DLC - They claim that the XBoxOne will be running AdvWarefare at 60 fps, 1080. Same as the PS4 - Unknown if they are achieving the above with the 10% GPU boost coming from the Kinect disconnect.

....like the new stuff or hate the new stuff....one thing that can't really be argued is that this next CoD is going to be the most significantly changed CoD since MW1. Not only in terms of playstyle and gameplay, but also in terms of graphics and engine.

www.explosion.com/61083/cod-advanced-warfare-multiplayer-will-be-very-different-than-before/Sledgehammer has been a talking up their next big project, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, stating that they will be adding the most amount of innovation to the game’s online component than ever before. This is a welcomed comment from the devs, as a lot people have grown a bit fatigued of the same formula every year. Studio co-founder Michael Condrey explained what’s coming this time around for the franchise. Speaking with Metro, Condrey said of changes to the shooter’s multiplayer, “We’ll have our own style. The exoskeletons are definitely in there and that’s the core of the game. “Our multiplayer has what I’m going to call the biggest set of new, as you call it, cool gear that you’ve seen in a long time. It’s a big step forward, from three years in development we’ve been able to innovate across the game. Everything you saw [at E3]… just imagine what that’s going to mean for multiplayer. You’re going to find that new is what it’s all about.” Then, speaking with Forbes, Condrey touched on all of the exo-suit skills and gadgets seen in the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare E3 2014 demo. He said, “Well, you can imagine that we want all these toys in multiplayer somehow. We’ll have much more to share soon. But on the highest level, the Advanced soldier which our E3 demo showcased is the Advanced soldier you’ll see in multiplayer.” The game is out in November on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.

www.gamerheadlines.com/2014/06/cod-advanced-warfare-survey-highlights-beta-possibility-more/
A Reddit user received an email containing a survey regarding Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, in which several questions pointed to features of the upcoming FPS game. The survey asked about what potential pre-order incentives would be compelling for Advanced Warfare and listed some options. These options highlight potential features which we might see for the game and these are: •A multiplayer map designed specifically for the Exo suit abilities •Beta access for a limited time before the game’s release •‘Nuketown Exo’: a recreation of the Nuketown map to accommodate Exo suit abilities •48 hour early access to multiplayer with stats that carry over to the full game
Several of these options are simply possibilities which Sledgehammer may be considering for the game and this does not confirm or deny a Beta being done for the game. COD games are usually not given betas before release so this would be a nice change. COD games do however receive a demo a few months later for the singleplayer campaign, and COD: Ghosts recently received a multiplayer demo over a month ago. What features would you like to see for Advanced Warfare before or after release? Let us know in the comments. COD: Advanced Warfare launches on November 4 2014 for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 and PC.

I recently saw trailers for this game it looks badass. I hope everyone with the xbox one plans to get this game. It's definitely going to be a nice relief from the repetitive crap ghosts has served up. Finally call of duty is stepping there game up.

I'll probably get it, but for the first time in years I am not stoked for a new CoD. Feeling a little burned out. And there are many games competing for my time - Destiny, Halo Master Chief collection, and CoD AW.
I'm sure I'll get the new CoD, but it doesn't feel like a no brainer this time...
