...why not do this pic again....
RECAP
Short recap today, as i want to spend time discussing bracketology towards the end. For now, not much to say. Blowout win. I did expect some of those clans to play better (or show up, etc..). Two of those clans below were ranked. They had won their bracket in the first Clan War. One of which, Evolve Gaming, had won by a large margin. I was expecting them to be bringing it this war, and that didn't happen. Probably the biggest drama of the weekend was our clan JUST NARROWLY missing the Hardpoint node at the end Saturday's Round Two. Seriously, we had a group playing a HardPoint game which would have capped the node, and the group missed by like 45 seconds. Very tough break, as that node would have given us not only 30 pts for the cap, but then another 30pts for the bonus hold. Our final score would have gone from 694 to 754.
Whether this will cost us the top 1% bonus, ...we will have to wait and see. By my estimations, it would appear that there are around 5,000 clans in Diamond (just estimating for now). After this war, that number might go up to say 8,000. The top 1% would therefore be the top 80 scoring clans. Did our score do this? Tough to say. High scores are made by winners of their buckets. There are only around 115 actual buckets/brackets size 13 & up. Where there 80 winners in those brackets, ahead of our 694? I don't think so. And how about the 400 some brackets in the 12& under. How many winners down there were above us? I can't imagine to many.
here's the scorecard breakdown from this weekend.
Rank.Clan Name.....................Round One.............Round Two...........Final Score
------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. HSV1 (HSV1).....................................197 + 197 = 394 (6)........150 + 150 = 300 (5)...............694.
2. AFS Old Guys (OLD).......................000 + 000 = 000 ............000 + 000 = 000....................000
3. Master Mexicans (xMMx).............000 + 000 = 000.............000 + 000 = 000....................000
4. Offical NiTS (#ONI).....................000 + 000 = 000 ...........000 + 000 = 000....................000
5. Evolve Gaming (EVG) (131st).........000 + 000 = 000............000 + 000 = 000....................000
6. Born of Osiris (BOO)......................000 + 000 = 000............000 + 000 = 000....................000
7. DIBH (DIBH)....................................000 + 000 = 000............000 + 000 = 000....................000
THE ROSTER.
Briefly, it looks like highest performance in terms of putting up wins, was Aroc....who came in with 47 wins over the two rounds. But we did have rotations going on in the second night, so many people's numbers were artificially reduced. But all in all, in terms of putting up wins, 47 stacks up pretty well with the high score of 48 in the first Diamond War.
PLEASE READ.
I apologize for the confusion on Thursday and Friday, in terms of who was playing, and not playing. BeachHead studios app broke again over those two days. It made things difficult yet again.
I would like to take this time to explain yet again how this process works. Typically, we (the clan) have to set our roster 24-hours in advance of the competition. Please note this. We do NOT have to set 'who' plays in the contest in advance. All we need to do is set the NUMBER of people playing. So if you see yourself benched the night before a contest, ...it doesn't matter. We often adjust (bench/unbench) players right before a contest starts.
More information on the day before a contest. So the day before the contest starts, we typically pick a bucket/bracket size we will be using for the competition. We have played all different bucket sizes in the past. From 6 people, to 12 people, to 18 people, all the way up to 100 people in some wars last year. How do we pick our size? There are many factors we use in deciding, some of which i am not going to go into on a public board....but, one factor is players signing up. If you don't message me BY THURSDAY AT NOON...i just assume you aren't going to be playing.
Benched vs UnBenched playing. This is important too. CoD squads run in multiples of six. Sometimes we have squads that are shorthanded. And with that, just about every clan war there is a need for some 'benched' players to help fill out shorthanded squads. A squad is always going to be more effective with six players, rather than being shorthanded, and counting on a random. In addition to that, this is a great way to play Clan Wars if you only have a few hours on one night. You can still participate, and help out. PLEASE..for the love of God, don't just dismiss helping during a war, because you are 'benched'. There are still ways to help. Just ask.
NEW RULES
THIS IS IMPORTANT TOO. Beachhead threw a new rule on us Saturday morning. We can now 'Unbench' players before the second round. This is great news. What does it mean? If we have a player who played Friday night, but then suddenly finds out he can't play Saturday (maybe his wife has him seeing a musical)....we can now 'unbench' one of our other roster players, and that player can now participate as an active participant in the Clan War Saturday night. This will give us the ability to get more people playing.
REMEMBER. CHECK YOUR MESSAGES. I typically start sending out Clan War notices five days before a Clan War begins. Try to give me a heads up, if you want to play.
