WELCOME TO THE RECAP THREAD.
PLATINUM WARS #2 - RECAP
This was a six day war, that ended a few days ago on Monday. Fortunately, we did some pre-planning and positioned ourselves so that we would hopefully avoid getting caught in a lengthy, protracted battle. Mission accomplished. While we had A LOT more competition this time (we had at least four other clans playing against us), we still were able to jump out to a quick lead in the initial hours of Wednesday, and pretty much sucked the life out of all the other clans, getting a one punch KO. Quick lead, make 'em quit, and then you can coast the next five days. We pulled it off yet again for the second time this AW season. Getting an even bigger blowout win. 585 pts for HSV1, and then four other clans scoring 79, 69, 32 and 18 pts.

Why is the above so important? Some clans weren't as smart (or as lucky as us). Some clans sought out battles for some unknown reason, and got stuck in ridiculously long battles. Case in point the Clan War of the week, PnOwnStartdotcom's clan (the former Wicked players). They got wrapped up in a six day war to RedditBlack in the 50 person class. They had some players putting in 15 hour days over six days, in trying to win. Good lord that is dumb. The result? They finished 2nd to RedditBlack. I feel for them. That sucks. No person should have to play in any competition like that ever again, putting in that much time in what is mostly right now meaningless Platinum Wars. These Plat wars are just qualifying wars, to get into Diamond. The point here is to do JUST enough (and no more) to advance to the next part of the competition. You don't want to blow yourselves out right now, there is still 11 months to go in this CW season. Pacing is required in these wars. Just my two cents there.

HSV1'S CURRENT STATUS
HSV1's Status? We are depleted now. I'll be blunt with that. We have at least 20 to 25 'XB 360' quality players who haven't come over to the Xbox 1 yet, and with BeachHead's idiocy with app management... no way to organize those people. This is a tough pill to swallow. Right now, the clan is being run on the XB1 side of things. I'm sorry to those on the 360 side. Hang tight, we'll figure something out, we aren't going anywhere.
We also have about 15 to 20 Xbox One players who have tried AW, and have kind of given up on it (at least for now) Each has their own unique reasons, and i'll be blunt.... I respect every one of those reasons. Some are into Destiny now. Some just didn't like the Exo/Jumping stuff. In some cases, it's a mix of both, to much Destiny playing has left them not liking AW.
We also have about four guys who just bailed out us, and went to play for other clans. They said it was because they didn't know what was going in on the first week. 
. One (ComplexDazed), was because he said he didn't feel we were competitive enough. WTF? We only finished fucking 17th in the world last year. Anyways, to each their own. People complain when I sent to many messages. And now complain when I don't send enough. You can't win on that front.
End of the day? These things have left us short. At the end of Ghosts, we were around 90 to 100 people. Now? With the above stuff going on, we have about 45 in the clan and even there, not all of those are playing regularly.
What to do? We are going to press on. We have started to try and re-recruit again. We picked up four new people in this past week and will slowly try to rebuild things back, replacing the above people who have left. Clan Wars is a long season. There will always be hurdles to go over.
MY THOUGHTS ON CALL OF DUTY: ADVANCED WARFARE
Let me say this. CoD Advanced Warfare is a hard game to play. You can't just bring your old CoD skill's to it, and think that will be enough to do well, once you learn the player movements and map patterns. That's not enough. You need to ALSO put in some serious time re-learning movement skills, defense movement skills, as well as un-learning old CoD habits that are of no use now. Not to mention, get used to 30% faster movement speeds on smaller maps than CoD Ghosts. Plus, in addition to the normal player and map memorization patterns required, you also need to learn additional new sets of movement patterns, as well as map patterns, due to the new verticality elements. Look up, not just straight ahead.
The above is a lot of effort. It won't come easy. I got a late start playing CoD AW due to Destiny playing and being away for two weeks on some trips. I then started playing finally, thinking my old 2.40 KD from CoD Ghosts would be enough to let me dominate. Not even close. I got my ass kicked. Hard a hard time even getting a 1.0 KD. Party playing seemed harder. Rumors of SBMM yet again. I was getting crushed. I actually thought about hanging it up.
But I didn't.
You have to put in a good 24 to 48 hours of playing. If you do so, ...the game will slow down. Trust me, it will. The game starts to make sense. And the movement system starts to feel just great and natural. I have seen it first hand. I pressed on. One decision I made after getting my ass kicked was to back off of Destiny's ridiculously high time requirements. You don't have to play Destiny 30+ hours a week. You don't need to have every gun, spending 20 hours working just to get a +2 agility "Sniper-Ass-Plug-lazer Gun". You can still get all the fun stuff, while spending 1/10th the time. The problem with Destiny is that the game is a time -suck, that won't allow you to have a life if you get to wrapped into it. Once I fixed my problem, got some AW gaming in, .......AW slowly has started to become fun for me. CoD is fun again. And I am glad I did this. I want to enjoy BOTH games, Destiny and AW. Not just Destiny.
To each his or her own though, everyone is going to have to decide on their own.
