.......I want to use this space to share my final thoughts on this CoD Ghosts Clan War Season.. In no particular order, some thoughts that come to mind:
Thought 1 - I want to get this thought out first above all others. The time is right to say it, right now. ArocMathews needs a huge thank you and props. Everyone in this clan needs to know what this guy did. Not to slight anyone else (get to other people in a few moments), but he needs to get some individual props for the tireless job he did. Bottom line? The 17th rank in the world doesn't happen without him. This guy is going to go far in life. His drive, follow-through, determination and competitiveness are just off the charts (not having a spouse/kids probably helped too, but someday he'll have that hurdle too - but I'm sure he'll do fine!!!) Aroc wasn't just my right hand man, he was my left hand man too at every stage of the way. One of the best CoD players I know and hope to keep knowing as long as my digit skills can keep up with my advancing age! Thank you bro!!!!

Thought 2 - I want to thank many of our veteran HSV1 guys who stepped up at all kinds of various times this year. I know most all of you are more 'mature' like I am, so having to deal with kids, jobs, angry spouses, significant others and other issues is never easy. I hear you. But just about all of you stepped up at so many surprising points in the Clan War season to help, it just never ceased to amaze me.
How about this example. Starting at the end during the Clan War Championships with us needing one more player. Who in god's name would think 'Coronaman' would be that 12th player on our team? He hasn't played a clan war in months, but he dusted off his controller and showed up. And not only showed up, but he took his 0.54 KD ratio and played like a fvcking BEAST during the war. Unfuckingbelievable.
It's hard to list everyone, but I am going to try too (I hope I don't miss anyone) Over the past four, five plus months, all these vets showed up numerous times to help:....... AngelPlayer, Swain, RunForrest, ChumLee, Bluntz, LegitChaos, Witty, MalGato, Jallito, Saggy, SnipingMyJayz, Edog, GeneralGrimm, RightteousThread, Specialist, GladiusThrust, Brown, Cookie, RoadBeers, JulieOscarEcho, Millertime, Haku, London, (not)HeavyHippie, Coupur, DeathRaider....and last but not least, AmazonBlonde. Amazon, you were there for A LOT of clan wars, and always checked without fail. Thank you. Thank all you veterans. .....some of you I have been playing CoD with for what? Five years? Six years? What a ride.
Thought 3 - Thank you some of the new(er), new, sort of new players who came into this clan the past year. I know I am going to miss a few, but one person needs some special thanks. Props to EliteWarrior, our UK CoD specialist. This guy showed up playing with me through the final seven or eight straight clan wars. Wow. More amazing yet, I have yet to hear him speak. But no worries, he's an ultimate team player & his actions speak for him. He's a CoD beast, eight straight CW's where he would stay up to 4am his local time to finish the wars!
Thought 4 - The other newer/newish guys (*you may not be new, I'm just not sure you go back years with me) Way to step up, helping out when you could. Especially those people the last weekend. This group, including in no particular order........ AbyssHero, zHAYzz, DeadlyDiahreah, NathanRollings, ZurQPhantom, RangerOne, StingierKyle, Zeno, DaveyJones, LegendaryShadow, iGradiated, JakeAbell, Kaboogles, MonstahOneTime, ComplexDazed, KingLuis, Nyteshade, Otis, StarCross, 1800BadKids, Notardious, etc.... I think I am missing a few as the above is only like fifty five names. I'm doing this from a few notes/memory so I am sure there are a dozen or so who are missing. Let me know!
Thought 5 - To those who helped and then disappeared and/or stopped played. To many to count here, people like GagEm, EdFox, SoDVenon, MrCrazy, Waffles, Illethal, Martino, RiccanAssassin, Rican007, etc.....Maybe thirty to forty more of you? Thanks. You are welcome back anytime when you start playing CoD again. Hopefully the next CoD treats you better and you like it!
..... all of you above, (the 70 listed plus the dozens I probably forgot) ....want to thank you for staying loyal to this clan and keeping up the good fight. Not to dredge up bad memories from last May, but there were a few people (only a few) who said this group would collapse and fail. It wouldn't be able to succeed as the 'key' players were gone. Uh... no. Not by a longshot. Not by a fucking mile long quickscoping longshot. This group who remained stepped up and played better than ever, winning seven of the last eight clan wars. Winning the last FIVE consecutive clan wars, which were against dozens of top-150 clans in the world, the best of the best. A better part of EIGHTY plus people chipping in over that time to make sure we kept winning. Thank you all before believing in the cause!!! I won't forget that.
And as far as those who left? I'm going to thank you too. Many of you left for your own personal reasons (competing wasn't your thing, tired of Ghosts, etc...) and with that, I respect that. But I do want to thank you for helping us grind through the early Platinum wars, as well as some of first two or three Diamond comps. You helped us along the way and I would be remiss in not thanking you for the part you played. We did have some great times during some of those CW's. Maybe someday we can be back on each other's friend's list and playing CoD again? My door is always open. Peace be with you!
What's next? R&R. I have put a ton of stuff on hold in my personal life, and now it's time to catch up. My CoD Ghosts playing will be only sporadic, as if I do any gaming, it's going to be in helping the HSV1 Destiny squads (Destiny people, sign up!!!!) get rolling (Witty and Aroc are in charge of that). Maybe do that for a while and then start up the machine for CoD Advanced Warfare in late October? Who knows. I can say that on some levels there are already things stirring in the background in terms of clan stuff. A few of us have made a TON of contacts in the clan world, just about with all the top clans and let's leave it at this. We are exploring a lot of opportunities. Stay tuned for more details.
