Yeah. Let's do this.
I don't even have the game yet, but we have at least twenty people playing. Why not be a bit organized and help each other out? It's not hard. Trust me, I suck at tech stuff and did it. I just joined up and I don't even have the game yet (I am getting it this week hopefully). The process does not take that long. The steps are easy. Like three minutes at most.
Step 1 - You need to create a www.bungie.net account. If you have ever played Halo before, you probably already have this done (I already had an account from years ago). Go to the site and take a few minutes to create the account OR find your old one.
Step 2. - Once you are registered and on the site, step two is even easier. On Bungie's main page, you'll see a bunch of symbols on the far left side of the screen. Hover your mouse over there and you look down the list for a tab that's called 'Groups'. Click on it. Once you do that, on the far RIGHT side of the screen is the 'group search' icon. Use it. Search for 'HSV1' and you will find us. Do a request to join the clan.
That's pretty much it. Witty and Aroc are running the show. Don't ask me any question as I don't know much about the game, although I did play the beta a bit. If you have questions at all, especially tech or knowledge based questions, ask Witty on here. Trust me, Witty knows more about Destiny than ANYONE in the world. He's like a Gracie 4th degree black belt in Destiny. There's nothing he can't answer.
There's nothing competitive about this clan joining, so don't stress about signing up and then getting hammered by me about doing comptitions. Nothing like that at all. Witty is one of the guys running the show and we all know how nice he is. For the most part, we are just trying to build up our clan numbers, as supposedly down the road, there will be some cool rewards (guns, shields, magic, whores, etc...) handed out to clans that get some shit done. Who doesn't like that? We are good at getting things done here (we got our CoD Clan to #24th in the world!) so help us out and build up our numbers.
Sign up everyone!
thanks
Stone.

Does one set the clan tag in the game? Or on bungie's site?

Once the Clan championships are over this weekend, my plans are going to be to play Destiny until CoD AW comes out. Or until that remade Halo comes out. Not sure when that is. I want to give this a good try. See if I can make it work.
I liked some of the mission stuff last night, a bit more than the beta. Some of the leveling process stuff made a bit more sense. So that's was good. The MP? Uh, that was a bit rough. I played about ten multiplayer games last night. Ouch. I couldn't get any feel for TTK ranges. On one hand, the shotgun spam and explosive stuff was horrifically insta-deaths. But yet the few guns I hadm like the semi-auto and full auto, one needed just about all 25 bullets in a clip to even knock an opponents shield down. I'll chalk it up to being a rookie I suppose. Got to give it time. Every MP lobby I was in (I was running with Aroc and two other guys), it seemed like I was playing against level 20+ opponents.
So is there any fun things for a clan to do? What needs done? Stuff like that? I set my clan thingy last night, and looking at bungie's Destiny page, it looks like I am in. Witty, what's up with you? Did you abandon us to go run Den's clan?

A few comments: 1) It might be wise to wait until you reach level 20 on a character before jumping into competitive MP (referred as Crucible in game), so you can at least find some "green" weapons to your liking. Otherwise if you get pwned in Crucible, you don't know if it is because you need to improve your skills or because you have poor weapons; 2) So far besides in game clan name and clan tags, there are no other clan related features yet. Things may change soon but until then there is no hurry to worry about clan organizations; 3) Each player can join as many groups as he wants, but can only set one as XBox clan. I am in both HSV1 group and DenK group and intend to be active on both sides. I plan to use DenK as clan for now since I have been asking other DenK bros to do so as well. Once DenK is good, I'll switch. EDIT: I have just switched. 4) Destiny Raid requires heavy coordination of 6 players, which sounds tough but is like a cakewalk compared to how we organized Clan War activities for Ghosts;

Would love to but won't be for a long while until I can get to level 26... On the other hand, getting together for some Crucible and spread HSV1 among the universe of guardians can be done whenever we can see each other online

Awesome, Witty is back!
Witty, we know you love this game, you won't be disappointed. We won't let you down with Destiny. Trust us, ....some of us (with CoD Ghosts now finished) plan on taking the same nutball zeal we had with Ghosts and driving this clan to do the same in Destiny. Our results speak for themselves, we get sh1t done! We got a full two months to go see what we can do!!!! The energy we had there, has to go somewhere!

"spread HSV1 among the universe of guardians "
Speaking of this ^ ....someone has to figure out how to affiliate or link HSV1 with our new friends at the SOW clan. In case anyone has been living under a rock the past month and missed my 1,632 emails, I started talking to the SOW clan leader a few months ago. He (and their entire 40 to 60 person clan) are from the UK. They are a very elite level/hyper competitive CoD clan just like us. HSV1 and SOW have been right there battling around the top 20 for months now. Neck and neck. And as chance would have it, the two clans got dumped into the same Clan Championships bracket last weekend. Forced to compete against each other. And as expected, it was a war for the ages. Right down to the wire, where HSV1 narrowly prevailed (see the Clan Championships thread for a full writeup)
We had the great opportunity to meet up with the SOW players right after the event. What a great meeting. We discussed tactics, the match and everything Clan Wars related. It was really cool to get the perspective from another clan.
Going forward, the two clans are going to keep talking and see where things go. I like to think some of these guys from the UK are some new friends. First up is going to be linking up the two clans to see how we get along playing Destiny.
Witty, Aroc.... find a way to make this link happen.

From my understanding they are still working on making the alliances possible. I set the alliance on the website for people to request to join. Some friends I made in a clan called demon reapers wanted to form an alliance. It's 2 of the guys in our destiny clan bio and zach. Thet have 12 in there clan. We attempted to form an alliance for about an hour a couple days ago with no luck. Bio told me bungie is still working on the alliance feature for clans.

I have been curious about how "alliance" works. This is an example: www.bungie.net/en/Clan/Forum/166292Check out the bar on the top that says "Alliance: IGN" to the left, and "Alliance Nav: IGN" to the right. Click "Alliance Nav" will display all groups/clans under this Alliance. Aroc: to get more understanding of how "Alliance" works, let's do some experiment. I did the following: a) created a testing group called "Witty Warriors", with only me as the member; b) went over to HSV1, "interact" -> "request alliance", and send out a message (which should have gone to you because you are the founder of HSV1 group); Please let me know what happens on your end. If you do see the request, approve it and I'll let you know what happens on my end.

That should be interesting to find out.
Aroc is taking off work the next day or two.....i fear for the enemies on Destiny.
I am also now at Level 20. I have to i guess go find Light stuff, to level up any farther. I pretty much got to Level 20 by mostly doing bounties i think. I haven't done much on Venus or Mars.

Hey guys,
The multi player is awesome and so are the strikes and heroics. Hit me up if you guys want to get together for Crucible, Strikes or the Weekly Heroics. I have ran all of them.
Who plays this on the 360?
