DIAMOND WAR #4 - RESULTS
The 10th Clan War, Diamond War #4, it ended Sunday night
....and it ended about three hours early when this happened below:
......So yeah. Complete wrecking by HSV1. Complete domination. A great job by everyone in the clan, hanging in there despite some very very choppy waters with the lag. Saturday was hard. Sunday was spotty. This was a unique weekend due to multiple game updates on Saturday, as well as new maps and DCL being dropped onto people. Lag was inevitable. But we used our organization we have, to overcome it, and take advantage of it. While other clans whined and quit, we rolled up a ton of points.
And back to those points. The above domination in the picture, what you see above occurred early into the final round, when we capped all the nodes and simply couldn't do anything else. Kind of a shame, because if the other clans hadn't of quit, it was very possible we might have been one of the highest scoring clans out there this weekend. We were at 542 points around 8:30pm ET. We still had another 2.5 hours to play and would have easily capped 3 to 4 more nodes. Another 90 to 120 points was possible. So we ended shutting down our team, with no nodes to cap. But we were close. Looking at other top clans, WickedElite had 588 points, and Lethal Gaming had 658. We were right there. The final results looked like this:
1. 542 pts - HSV1
2. 60 pts - 4evrBrosUnited
3. 32 pts - Kings of Glory
4. 00 pts - xAmishMafia
5. 00 pts - The Outlaw Army
6. 00 pts - MBFA
7. 00 pts - Elite Prodigies
8. 00 pts - Federation
I've also posted this over the weekend, but it needs repeating. Our winning is not due to just getting ALL scrub clans. BeachHead Studios pooled up better clans this weekend. They actually did 'seed' the clans and tried to put 3 to 4 clans of similar rank/points, who have also recently won, all into the same competition pool. If you look a current rankings board over the weekend (Beachhead got it up on Saturday), we had very good teams against us, that had just won their last CW. Where to find this? We dropped to the 40-45 bucket this last weekend. Based on 'current' rankings, there were 108 clans in this pool for this contest. We actually got placed with two clans right next to us, in the rankings:
- 16th place - 208 points - 4vrBrosUnited
- 17th place - 208 points - HSV1
- 19th place - 204 poins - EliteProdigies
So we had two fairly accomplished clans playing against us, who had achieved similar success like us. And well, I think this contest clearly showed that they aren't on the same level of us. I think if anything, this contest showed that we are greatly under-rated just going by rankings. Where Beachhead has us ranked, we are head's & tails above those clans. We have improved by HUGE amounts over the past month, becoming a well oiled machine. This CW showed that. The clan '4vrBrosUnited', we actually played them already in the 1st Diamond War. We barely beat them, 220-154. It was close. This time? 542-60. THAT is how much we have improved. It's actually pretty scary. All that work and effort paid off.
We are going to also see this jump in the next updated Diamond Leaderboards (due this week) The way we won this time is going to help. We not only will get the 80pts for 1st place, the 10 pts for being a big clan......but we are going to score a ton of bonus points. We scored 23 of the 30 possible Objective points. We got 5 pts for the top 15% scoring clans bonus. The only thing still uncertain, is if we get the +10 pts for the top 1% clans. It will be close. I think we scored around 90 pts in our first DW win, this time we stand to get 113 to 123 points. That's going to move us up a lot.
I have sort of accurate results for each Round of this CW. When you look at the Round by Round..... one can really see just how important it is to get those control bonus points. It's really not what you do DURING the round, it's how you END the round that matters. The 'chess match' part to this game. It showed up in this contest. During Round 1, we were only ahead 74 to 30 with about an hour left in the round. But in the last hour, we stole HCTDM, got SnR, and that was that. A 74-30 lead quickly became a 254-60 lead with bonus multipliers. That's how fast it can turn. And as we all had discussed, .....you get ahead Friday night, other clans will quit. Boom.
Here is the round by round scoring.

To give everyone a snapshot of what the clan scene looks like, here's a rough count i took over the weekend. Many clans 'downsized' a bit to compete better. For example, there were 208 big clans going into the weekend, but only 163 on Saturday. Like us, about 45 bigger clans dropped down to the 21 to 45 division to compete better. Regardless of the division, we are going to move up across all classifications this week. Our 208 Diamond Leaderboard pts are going to go up by 113 to 123, giving us 321 to 331 pts.
If anyone wants any more of those stats, look to the top of this page, for a stickied thread called "Diamond Division info & updated Diamond Rankings (4/01)" I keep all those above stats and rankings, updated, in that thread.

Last thought. I know some people have had a rough go of it, with the weekend evening times. I said this before, will say it again. Nothing is ever static in this game. Get to comfortable with what you are doing, BeachHead then goes and changes all the rules. As I have said, this is an 'evolving' game. An endurance test. A clan needs to be nimble on it's feet and ready to adjust to what is thrown at it, if it wants to find it's way into the top ten. I found this quote from Trey at Beachhead yesterday. It sure seems like some new starting times or changes to times, are coming our way...
