It's THE best movie ever made that involves time travel.
Just my opinion there, but I stand by it. Pick any tv show or movie you know, it's better. TV shows like Lost or Fringe. Movies like 12 Monkeys, Looper, Back to the Future series, Terminator, Butterfly effect, TimeCrimes, Time Bandits, GroundHog Day (sort of has those elements), Source Code, ... not sure what other ones? I've heard Triangle is good, but haven't seen that one, as it went straight to video in the US.
Anyways, Primer was made in 2004. It was a movie made on a budget of $7,000. Not a typo there. $7,000. I saw it years ago and it's the best movie out there ever made that dealt with time travel. If you haven't seen it, like sci-fi, you have no excuse for not seeing this yet. It can now be viewed online for free, on sites like YouTube. Or get it on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc...It's everywhere.
If you have seen it. This movie came up in a conversation with a friend the other day, I had some questions on it.
here's another interesting short movie

You're not getting any love here. I'm gonna check it out but then you have to watch a movie called Sunshine.

I didn't expect to get any. The movie is very obscure. It was made by a guy named Shane Carruth, and as noted before, he made the movie himself on a budget of $7,000 (reportedly). It then took him close to two years to edit it, before finally entering it in the Sundance Film Festival to which is won the top prize in 2004. It signed on with a distributor but only saw a limited release. Very few people ever heard of it. But with Youtube and other channels, it has found a cult following home.
I saw it years ago? Maybe in 2011? Just watched it again the other night. It still stands up.
If you watch it, you'll see why it never got any traction at theaters. Most all people won't get it. Even if you think you get it, you probably didn't. It cuts no corners in being pretty harsh, in regards to not dumbing down the time travel concepts.

I've heard of it. Danny Boyle made it, the guy who did the zombie film 28 days later (great movie!!!).
