The end game is upon us. After what can only be described as one of the more grueling CoD clan competitions ever made, this version finally has an end in sight. Beachhead has officially released the schedule for the remaining clan wars. As seen below, there will be four more clan wars, and then one last event on September 20th/21st. This event will be sort of a 'Super Bowl' of clan wars. An 'invite-only' affair for qualifying top clans. These top clans will be allowed to enter this competition and do one last battle royale sort of thing, to determine the final placements in figuring out CoD's world best clans. Here's the schedule:
Diamond War 9 - July 19th &; July 20th - Manila, Philippines
Diamond War 10 - August 2nd &; August 3rd - Helsinki, Finland
Diamond War 11 - August 16th &; August 17th - Buenos Aires, Argentina
Diamond War 12 - September 6th &; September 7th - Budapest, Hungary
Battle Royale (13) - "Super Bowl" of Clan Wars - September 20th & September 21st - Mombasa, Kenya
Ramifications for HSV1? As it stands now, we would actually qualify for the Battle Royale in at least one of the buckets. That's pretty amazing. Our current ranking sits anywhere from 3rd, to 12th, to 24th depending on the bucket you are looking at. The SuperBowl Battle Royale, will include all three time zones merged into one time. So it's truly the best of the best CoD clans/people competing. It will probably be set up so that the top eight clans per bucket are invited. Right now, are just barely included and would get an invite. And that says a lot, seeing how probably 110,000 clans started out on this journey last November. HSV1 is right there in the mix. Congrats. We just have to find a way to score some points in the next couple of CW's.
How many of you guys have ever had the opportunity of saying you were ranked in the top 20 in the world in something?
Other news?
1. Due to mounting griping and protests on various BeachHead and other media feeds (including myself in that), Beachhead finally relented and gave up. They are going to stop doing the very grinding 3-day contest, and shift it back to a two-day contest. All future clan wars will be made into two 4-hour rounds, with the rounds being on Saturday and Sunday. This should make it easier to find time to play.
2. The next scheduled clan war, which should have been on the 4th of July weekend, has been postponed. As noted above (in case you missed it), it is now scheduled for July 19th and 20th. This gives all the clans a chance to regroup and reload.
