"NEW" 06/2014 WorldWide CoD Clan rankings are out!

Now that I got all the above rankings done last night, wanted to congratulate all those who have been helping out and competing. Well done! Congrats. A lot of you guys have put in serious work and it wasn't easy to get to the above point. Stressful competitions, playing wherever you were needed, jumping into squads sight unseen, some even playing solo. That's not easy and  I know a lot of CoD players can't or wouldn't handle this (especially with the hit on one's stats). All the help, big and small, contributed. Props.

Take a look at the big picture here, seven months into this CoD Ghost Clan War season:

1. There are probably around 110,000 clans that have been made this year (so far) in the CoD universe. Including all consoles, the Xbox360, PS3, PS4, PC, WiiU, and XB0x1. Around 110,000 clans made, still being made, comprising anywhere from three to one hundred players, that went into the bronze to platinum leagues.

2. Out of those 110,000 clans, so far to date, approximately 30,000 clans have qualified for the Diamond Division clan contests. Diamond contests being a much much more difficult clan contest, in that you only have a few hours to score points. Again, a clan had to win two Platinium level clan wars to qualify, then choose to go into Diamond. About or around 30,000 clans qualified for Diamond.

3. Out of those 30,000 clans, 20,048 were able to pull this shit together enough to get at least 1 cp point in a Diamond war (cap a node) You do that, you qualify for Diamond Leaderboard points and go up on the worldwide rankings.

4. Of those 20,048 clans, we have moved up to 61st place. That's really impressive considering how stressful and competitive the Diamond comps can be at times.

5. Many of the above 20,048 clans are split up into various buckets or divisions. Approximately four main divisions (3-12, 13-20, 21-50, 51-100), and a bunch of 'rivals' buckets, subcategories that break down into even smaller divisions. With where we are, we are going to have a tough time moving up any further in many of these divisions. We are in the top ten/twenty in most of them! Take a look around..... '55-70' we are 3rd. '51-100' we are 7th. In the '21-50' we would be 26th. And in the '13-20' division, we would be 13th, out of 3,359 clans.

There's not very many of those 3 to 6 person clans ahead of us (3-12 bucket). It's kind of spread out at this point. You also have to consider at this point, .....what a clan's size total roster size is, and what it's COMPETING size is too. These days, the latter is almost always a few divisions/buckets lower.

Take us. We have 63 people 'officially' on our roster as we speak today. We have another 38 to 45 people who have not been around for a week or more, and haven't re-accepted their clan invites after being dropped. Some of those people, probably won't come back (and note, I am not including those 10 to 12 people who left for the muppet clan, they are gone and out of the discussion) Then we have our 'competing' team, which God only knows the accurate size on that. We had as many as 38 people express interest in playing the last CW, but as we saw, a lot of last minute drop outs and changes. So what size clan are we? Are we 105 person clan? 63 people? 38? Or 24? Who knows.

Here's a breakdown of who is ahead of us. We are in 61st place.

- We have 17 micro clans in front of us (3-12 person clans)

- We have 12 clans in the 13-20 people bucket ahead of us

- We have 25 clans in the 21-50 bucket ahead of us.

- We have 6 clans in the 51-100 bucket ahead of us.

...so it's kind of spread out.

All the above has to be taken in context, with what is going on these days. Two trends.

One, Ghosts is hitting the summer doldrums and losing players (who are losing interest)

Two, considering the above trend, there's a HUGE flight from 'being big' going on. It's just not sustainable, especially for competing purposes. Clans are shedding people and dropping people at a blistering rate. Both from the roster size and especially with a competing/competition aspect. The big clan buckets/divisions are pretty much dead these days. You can see the trends up in the first post. The 51 to 100 bucket (clans competing in this div) has dropped from 262, 195, 188 to 115 clans for this recent 6/04 ranking update. And remember, that just shows where clans are NOW, days after the contest. Many clans added people after the contest like we did. The actual number of clans competing in the big buckets (46-54, 55-70, 71-100), it may be as low as 60 to 70 clans in all. That's almost a graveyard. Then consider in addition to those three buckets, there are also three time zones too. Take 70 clans, divide by 9, you barely have enough clans to fill a seven clan pool. In fact, I've seen a few examples where Beachhead is now just putting in Ghost clans to fill up a 8 clan pool.

Big clan competition, I am going to officially say it. I can officially say it. IT IS DEAD.  We could in theory move up to the 71-100 bucket next Clan War, and get a bucket/division that has no other team competing against us. But then again, we could get unlucky and get dumped in with Wicked Elite, as we would be ranked right behind them.

This looks at how many possible clans are in a certain clan size, and then when you consider the number of buckets in that grouping, as well as time zones, an approximate amount of clans available to play there. Of course, what also needs to be remembered is that some of the clans in those numbers aren't active. Also, many clans might be there now (6/4) for measuring purposes, but will drop come next CW.

As can be seen, 71-100 is officially dead. RIP. Nothing more to say on that. There are three time zones with the 71-100 bucket, and when you consider inactive clans, clans dropping in size, then more so for the next CW,...there simply aren't enough clans to fill up these three buckets anymore. That bucket is deader than dead. We've seen in some clan's brackets, like the Euro bucket with Lethal Energy. They had to have ghost clans included to make it whole.

Next division to go? The 46-54 and 55 to 70 buckets. These buckets are clinging to life, and are close to dying. They will be the next one's die. When the numbers get below '20' or so, the bucket dies.
