POWER RANKINGS. This week, we provide Power Rankings from each contributor to /r/clannews. Being there were many changes amongst the Leaderboards as well as newer faces, I rank the top 15 clans this week (Rank, Name, Change from previous ranking):

DISCLAIMER We will not include clans below ~20 players.


1. Wicked Elite (+1, ranked #1 in world)  (71-100 ET) - The new king of the mountain, @wickedelite saw challenge early on from their opponents in the Champion (51-100) Battle Royale bracket, but when things started to look desperate, Wikd turned any hopes of an upset away by obliterating the late comeback attempts of their opponents by making the last three node grabs of the war in the final 20 minutes turning a ~20 point lead into a dominant 126 point drubbing.

2. Reddit Black, (-1, ranked #2 in world)  (71-100 PT) -  Reddit Black did everything in it's power to pull off the victory in the Heavyweight (21-50) Battle Royale bracket in a battle involving the top 3 ranked Diamond Division clans in the world, and they did so in dramatic fashion by stealing away DooM Clan Elite's final node in the final 10 minutes of the war assuring themselves the victory with the post game bonus points for nodes held. The war was not without controversy, but regardless of the accusations, Reddit pulls the win to remain one of the two top undefeateds in the Diamond Division since it's inception. We're PLEADING with Reddit Black, Wicked Elite, and other top clans to grow to max players and to find a time to have a final heavyweight showdown that everyone agrees to in terms of time and date.

3. Doom Clan Elite (no change, Ranked #3 in world) (46-54) -  DooM was 10 minutes from clinching a victory, and they still feel they would've won the match if not for an alliance of clans. Tempers flared right after the match as the talented clan felt robbed. DooM hopes to change their fortunes and gain some level of revenge in the 4v4 MLG variant matchup with Reddit Black later this week, but it'll be quite a while before they get the sour taste out of their mouths from their first Diamond Division loss.

4. The Brightside (no change, ranked #5 in world) (46-54) - @the_TBS_Clan saw a slow start after an app screwup on Beachhead's side that originally had them in the lead in the Champion bracket of the Battle Royale. Feelings were hurt and tempers were at an all time high as the reset cost TBS an early ~70 point lead on the favorite, @wickedelite, with everyone playing blind. Down ~90 points after day 1 and receiving unmerciful taunts from clans within its own bracket, TBS legitimized themselves in a furious day 2 comeback that saw them close the gap to within 20 points of Wicked with only 20 minutes remaining in the war. While the comeback proved futile, TBS leapfrogged Lethal-Energy to grab second in the war for not only consolation Diamond points but also the respect of their opponents after an incredibly competitive war.

5. Lethal Gaming (no change, ranked #4 in world) (46-54 ET) @lethalgaming_ was subject to many accusations and collusion rumors over the course of the week. Regardless of how the war played out, Lethal Gaming played the game and came up short by 1 win on 1 node from swapping places with @redditblack for the top of the Heavyweight bracket in the Battle Royale. The difference was a [75-74 loss]() in the HCTDM mode giving Reddit Black the node and in turn the win. Lethal Gaming turned a 64 point deficit after day 1 into an almost improbable comeback win over the top 2 ranked Diamond clans in the world. Unfortunately, one game stopped them.

6. Lethal-Energy (+4, ranked #10 in world) (71-100 Euro) @lethalenergy had @wickedshrapnel thinking hard and playing harder on Sunday thanks to a day 1 assault in the Champion's bracket that saw them at a 2 CP disadvantage to the hungry @wickedelite clan. Lethal-Energy unfortunately ran out of steam come Sunday, but the combination of TBS and Lethal-Energy gave Wicked Elite their closest challenge to date and had Shrap's nips hard enough to cut cement.

7. HvK R3GUL8RZ (-1, ranked #8 in world) (46-54) - @codr3gul8rz jumped up in player population and competed with the big boys. One could argue that was a silly strategy having 3 max clans to compete with, but I think that takes some major balls. Props to them for putting up 180 CP in an absolutely brutal bracket.

8. Reapers Regiment (no change, ranked #6 in world) (46-54) - @reapersclan did not compete in the Battle Royale. While they had the opportunity, they seized a better one to move up the leaderboards to #6 in the world but not in this week's power rankings.

9. Team Reflex Clan (unranked, ranked #12 in world) (21-45) - Relative unknown, Reflex jumped 9 spots into the top 15 in the world.

10. Axon Gaming (unranked, ranked #18 in world) (46-54) - @axon_gaming breaks the top 10 in our power rankings after jumping 20 spots on the Diamond Leaderboards with a win in the second tier Battle Royale in very convincing fashion.

11. NVZN Greatness (unranked, #16 in world) (21-45) - [@nvzn_Clan](http://twitter.com/nvzn_clan] jumps 4 spots in this weeks diamond leaderboards.

12. Xtreme Joker (unranked, #19 in world) ()  - @spastik is the only guy I see reppin his clan on twitter. Good for that guy. They jump into the top 20 after previously being ranked outside the top 25.

13. GBR Elitez (unranked, #22 in world) (21-45)- Fresh off scoring the highest amount of points of any Battle Royale bracket, @gbrelitez is getting hungry in the HW division.

14a. RELAPSED (unranked, #24 in world) (21-45) @relapsed gave it their best shot in the bracket with the top 3 teams and took 4th overall. Their reward saw them jump one place in the diamond division.

14b. Homicidal Gaming (unranked, #23 in world) (21-45)- @hgclans wins their bracket, unfollows @yoyo_clannews out of spite for no mention, and smack talks the hell out of RELAPSED. It's time these two face off again to see who's the better of the two clans. Either pair these guys up in another clan war, or let's get that 4v4 MLG variant going.

The news?

We won a huge 128 points from the last Diamond Clan War. This skyrocketed us up the rankings. Kind of hard to believe, but we are just about the top. In our current bucket/division (46 to 54 people), we are ranked 2nd. For clans ranging in size from 21 to 100 people.....we are ranked 43rd out of 2,024 clans. That's the top 2%!

Also, other information. It would appear that the rate of growth, of clans coming into Diamond, is slowing down. The total of all diamond clans (who have scored at least 1 DLP point) is now at 20,048 clans. That's a 2,010 person increase, down from the 3,900 increase before. The numbers coming into Diamond are slowing. All told, by my estimates, there are approximately 40,000 plus clans who have gone into Diamond. We are ranked 105th out of all of them. Top 2/10th of 1%.

That's an interesting number Witty. Especially so when you consider that a Diamond clan has to qualify to get in. So these aren't fly by night clans. These are people who put in some solid effort to organize and do the work to get in this division. Your above number probably also has to be tweaked by some other factors.

- The 20,048 clans are just the clans that scored a Diamond Leaderboard point. That is, they placed in the top three of a clan contest. There are literally COUNTLESS other clans who have gone Diamond, and have not placed top three. These clans won't show up on the Beachhead leaderboards. Seeing how only 42% of clan in any given pool can score a DLP point, (3 out of 7), one can somewhat assume that for the 20,048 clans who have scored a point, there are also another 20,000 clans out there who have gone Diamond, and not placed top 3. I am ballparking it at 20,000, but this number could easily be as high as 28,000 clans.

- With the above, we know other clans are going into Diamond each contest. We can track the total number of clans that have scored a point. As you can see, we are just about finished with new clans coming in. Or at least, an equilibrium with new clans coming in, and old clans leaving. The rate of growth is just about at zero %.

DW2 - 5,650

DW3 - 10,296 +82.2%

DW4 - 14,196  +37.8%

DW5 - 18,038  +27.1%

DW6 - 20,048  +11.1%

- Clans leaving have to be considered, or at a minimum, inactive clans. Many of these Diamond clan have blown up so to speak, and stopped playing. We know this is true. And many clans have had people quit. Look at our clan, how a dozen or so people just got up and left without saying a word to anyone. Stress gets to people, from competing, doing the cuts, all that stuff. A lot of people can't handle the stress of Diamond. So out of those 20,048 clans sitting in Diamond with points, and another 20,000 plus without points, many clans aren't going to be active. And many active clans have lost people.

- We can see how clans have lost people, doing the constant 'grind' of competing and cutting to make the right buckets. Look at the numbers for the number of clans competing in the 46 to 100 person buckets/divisions.

DW3 - 163 clans
DW4 - 262 clans
DW5 - 195 clans
DW6 - 188 clans

Now cross reference that number, how it's dropping, with how many clans are coming in. You can see that while more and more clans are coming in, the number of clans competing from 46 to 100 people has peaked, and is now dropping fast. If anything, clan wars has been kind of destructive to the Call of Duty 'big clan'. This current game mode is ripping big clans to shreds.

- But the above said, you also need to consider the cuts going on. A clan that shows up on the Leaderboards with say 21 people, might actually have just cut non-competing members recently to make a smaller bucket. There might actually be 30, 35, or even 40 players in that clan. But only '21' is going to show up as their actual number of clan members. My guess? Every clan on that list is underrepresented by a fair margin.

- I think you can come up with two numbers:

1. The total number of people who have played Diamond Clan Wars.

2. The total number of ACTIVE people currently doing Diamond Clan Wars.

The first number would be relatively easy to calculate, the second, not so easy.

The news? 

We all know we took third last weekend, in what probably was our toughest ClanWar bracket to date. Obviously we all wanted to win, and it was especially frustrating as we were winning after round 1, until roster-counting issues kind of screwed us over in round 2. Oh well. Long story short here, it didn't really affect us that much. In some of the bucket/divisions, we didn't move at all. Stayed the same. In regards to the overall, including ALL clans, we dropped only a little. We dropped from 61st overall, to 76th overall. Not a big deal. Again, that's 76th out of 30,500 clans. Or if you want to say it another way, 76th out of probably 110,000 clans in the CoD universe (when you include all the bronze/plat clans). It is, what it is.
