=============================================================================================
Our past. No one is real sure 'when' it started. But we do the 'where'. We were just a bunch of more 'mature' bros who found this game called CoD Modern Warfare 1 back in December of 2007, and yeah, we liked it a lot. The good old days. Most of us came from various FPS'er backgrounds and took to the CoD play style put into effect by the old Infinity Ward. We all played solo. We all sort of sucked. I did suck. I didn't even know their was such a thing as a positive KD or that people could play grouped up. I just played and played, taking my beating like man, never quitting. Then one day, i found a friend. I joined him and his friend. Who was first? We don't know and it doesn't matter. A small circle of bros 'infected' with the CoD bug. And what all connected us originally were two primary things.
1. Enjoy the 'bro-ship' of playing grouped up.
2. Wanting to win. Even back in the old days, even if we were bad, we went down swinging if we were going to lose.
Over time, the small circle grew larger. A small group picked up a few more in Treyarch's World at War. We found ourselves having fun playing grouped up. Not just the winning elements which came easier and easier, but also the camaraderie of getting together with the same people to have some 'fun time', where life's real world issues and problems could be put on hold a few hours. Before we knew it, the circle of friends was getting larger and larger, hitting the fifties. Before we knew it, we were playing MW2 and then BlackOps. The informal group now probably easily hit over 100 people. People who came and went, in and out. Some people gone for a whole game cycle, but then returned for the next. Always, without fail, that bond of playing CoD grouped up, playing Domination, brought people back. Where the group officially started or ended, no one really knew. It was just there. Many of those people from those early days are still here today. Some aren't. Some of those missing, will probably come back. Some never will. Regardless of their paths, the 'spirit' of what binds the group will always remain. And the legends and stories of those past days, names like 'Demonic Crusher', will always remain.
Fallen CoD warrior 'DemonicCrusher', long since gone from HSV1, pictured hospitalized, after a 67 hour straight marathon sessions of CoD MW3
Sometime in the summer of 2011, MW3 was announced it was coming out with something new. For the first time in CoD history, there was going to be an in-game competition system. So no longer would people have to go to MLG's GameBattles to find more serious competition. They could find it right within their CoD game. IW's MW3 came up with a clan competition called 'Elite Clan Contests'. Our group needed to have a new name. As a side joke by someone i no longer remember who, the name 'HSV1' was born. It has two versions to it. 'Honor, Strength & Victory as One'. And the more commonly used explanation, 'HSV1'... "....and if you don't know what that is, you are to young to be in our group" That stuck. A formal clan was born. We had around 65 to 75 people and actively competed for an entire year in the clan comps. We did well. Actually, we did better than well. We were one of CoD's top clans and I will brag about that now. We routinely scored in the top 25 out of 35,000 to 40,000 plus clans. Over a dozen times in that top 25. THAT is domination. We also finished the year as the no 1 ranked clan in CoD in Winning Percentage. Here's an example of one of our PAST clan wars:
Our philosophy, what we did, worked. It continued to carry us through MW3, past BO2, and now into Ghosts.
What are we doing in Ghosts? We compete in the ClanWars. We are in the Diamond Division and probably one of the top 40 or so larger clans out there. We also do MLG tournaments, with some players going out in that direction. We do a lot of things. Ask around.
So here we are today, with yet another new home. And a circle of friends that organically grows and falls over time. And with new people finding us, an attempt with this new home, to try and summarize all that I said up there, into one overall Mission Statement. None of us know how long we will stay with CoD. Life can be hard. But what we do hope for is that when our time is up, we've taken our last CoD 'IED death', that the principles below will kept by those who keep the spirit of the group going. It's what binds us. It's brought a lot of joy to people's lives. It's been 'real'.
Peace
